Meridian Africa is a collaborator — the relationship layer between international production and South Africa's film industry. We don't own kit or crews; we're the people producers, agencies and institutions call when they have an idea and don't yet know who to call next.
That runs in both directions. We bring international productions into South Africa, matched with a trusted network of local suppliers, crews and studios — and we take African stories and talent out into the world, championing the work in rooms it wouldn't otherwise reach.
Founded by a South African with deep roots on both sides of the industry, and built on relationships across the country's production, institutional and cultural landscape, Meridian exists to close the distance between ambition and access.

Meridian Africa is the relationship layer between international production and South Africa's film industry — not a production services company, but the collaborator who already knows who to call. We work alongside producers, agencies and brands, connecting each project to a trusted network of local partners, and we do the same in reverse: taking South African and African stories to the international stages built to receive them.
We work alongside international productions as a collaborator on the ground — connecting you with the right South African crews, studios and partners for the project, and helping navigate the practical realities of shooting here. The result is production that moves at the pace of ambition, without losing the local expertise that makes it work.

This policy explains what personal information Meridian Africa collects through this website, why, and what rights you have over it. Meridian Africa (referred to as "we", "us") is the data controller for information collected here.
When you use the enquiry form on this site, we collect: your first and last name, email address, company or organisation (optional), your role, your area of interest, and any message you choose to write. We do not knowingly collect any other personal information, and we do not currently use analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies on this site.
We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry, evaluate potential projects or collaborations, and — where relevant — to introduce you to partners in our network. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without asking you first.
We process your information on the basis of your consent (given when you submit the form) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries directed to us.
Enquiry form submissions are processed through Formspree, a third-party form-handling service based in the United States, which delivers your message to our inbox. We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law. Confirm Formspree's current data processing terms and region before publishing.
This site currently loads typefaces from Google Fonts' servers, which may transmit your IP address to Google as part of loading the page. This is being moved to a self-hosted setup — see note to site owner. Aside from this, we do not use cookies or embed any other third-party trackers.
We retain enquiry information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and pursue any resulting collaboration, and no longer than is needed for that purpose. Confirm a specific retention period, e.g. 24 months from last contact.
Because our form processor is based in the United States, your information may be transferred outside South Africa and the European Economic Area. We take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled securely.
Depending on where you're based, you have rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and/or the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to lodge a complaint with your relevant data protection authority — in South Africa, the Information Regulator.
